Erik ReeL painting
Accompanied by three ecologically-minded designers curated by Rhonda P. Hill
The paintings by Erik ReeL are the culmination of three exhibitions re-introducing ReeL to the Pacific Northwest after a 33 year absence. The first show at PLACE in Portland featured transitional work done in isolation during the COVID pandemic. The second show at Laura Vincent in Portland surveyed the decade prior to COVID, 2009-2019. The Whitman show features new work.
The designers, all of whom have implemented zero, or near-zero waste production:
Alena Kalana [Los Angeles and Guam]
Fabiola Soavelo [Switzerland, Madagascar, London]
Palani Bearghost [enrolled member of the Three Affiliated Tribes of Madan, Hidatsa, & Arikara. Also, Oglala, Northern Cheyenne, & Diné. Portland-based].
The Sheehan Gallery at Whitman College is one of the premier exhibition spaces for living artists in the Pacific Northwest, located on the Whitman Campus just off Boyer Avenue in Walla Walla, Washington.
