Once ReeL turned 13, thus gaining access to the public library's main adult section, ReeL began drawing from the album covers and book jackets of the books and albums he checked out. Other drawings of note, but no longer accessible, included drawings of Franz Kafka, Bertrand Russel, and James Baldwin.
